Within her prologue, where we come the closest to understanding the Wife of Bath in her narration, one could point out a number of factors that cause her to become just another pilgrim with “another way of looking at things” as are, for example, the Pardoner and Friar with their views on life. Although Chaucer clearly criticizes those characters, we don’t see criticism of the Wife of Bath. The means by which she has obtained her experience with men come from her marriages to “three good ones” and “two bad ones.” She would chastise the “good ones,” usually elderly and wealthy, and get their money using deceit, sexual blackmail, and other dishonest means. By no means an ideal woman to either medieval or modern audiences, she openly uses her sexuality as a tool. We find that she is no stranger to using quotes from accepted literature to counter the restrictions foisted on her. On closer examination, though, we find that some quotes are incorrect or interpreted in a skewed manner. She also seems preoccupied with her aging and is sensitive to comments about her looks. What really humanizes her, however, is the way she talks about her two “young” husbands, who have done unto her as she has done unto men. She, the victimizer, has become the victim of love with her last two husbands. While advocating the empowerment of women as a reformer, she also ends with the conclusion that a happy marriage is one where both sides give up their power. With this, she goes back on her ideas.

The question still remains: did Chaucer like her type of woman or not? Did he support feminism, or did he loath her type for their feminist views? The greatest evidence of this is how he talks about her, both her positive and negative sides. Chaucer’s poetry helps to de-emphasize her flaws, but he also talks about her ideas in a series of complicated extended metaphors, for example, when she compares herself to a bran as opposed to pure, white bread, to express her views on virginity.

Because misogyny was pretty much accepted during the middle ages, it is certainly strange that Chaucer did not use obvious irony and satire of the Wife of Bath in her prologue and tale. Even stranger was the fact that he gave her a certain degree of reason and correctness. It may even be enough to assume that he did agree with her. Despite varying opinions, however, the Wife of Bath remains an enigma that resonates through literary history.

O mica cuta ii apare pe frunte, pe masura ce scrie. Si parca o rugaminte tacuta e gravata profund in incruntarea ei dura si in inclinarea usoara a sprancenelor. E neajutorata, dar realizeaza incet, incet ca asa a fost sa fie. Indura si trece mai departe, sperand ca totut se va aseza cum trebuie ? Da, ea asa a procedat mereu.

Cred ca nu am mai accesat pagina asta de fix doua luni.

Chiar imi pare rau, dar trebuie sa va marturisesc ca au fost doua luni grele ! Au trecut repede, dar au parut asa grele si pline si mii de chestii. In primul rand, am facut bine la examene. Nu extraordinar – se putea mult mai bine – dar media mea finala este 9,41. E o porcarie pentru ca la mate a fost un subiect de CACAO unde am luat 8 :O iar la romana 9,70.

Eu inca nu realizez ca e vara. Probabil va trebui sa trec cu bine de joia asta ca in sfarsit sa ma simt si eu cu adevarat in vacanta. :)) E greu sfarsitul asta :-j

Nu stiu daca toata chestia asta merita un post, dar e un moment important :”> al primaverii.
Am comandat pizza in scoala ! =)) I mean, for real. Am sunat, am strans banii si ne-am dus in ora de fizica sa luam pizza de la poarta ! Cine s-a mai intors :-j Dar cred, ca principalul motiv pentru care am fost parati la Burcea a fost ca nu i-am dat si lu’ aia o bucata.
Azi, diriga ne-a anuntat ca este interzis sa ma comandam pizza. Ca s-au batut unii ( cu ea, pentru ea ), ca s-a chiulit de la ore ( dar aia ne-a dat voie ! ), ~~ca i s-a facut si lu diriga pofta, dar era in post~~

Au trecut 7 luni ( fără 5 zile ) de când am postat imaginea aceea fumky cu ochelarii ăia cu motanu din ‘ Alice în Wonderland ‘, ăia de pe Bobsmade.com . Anyway, au veniit !!

A ajuns azi coletul din Germania . Când am văzut cutia, mi-era frică să o deschid.Desigur, asta nu înseamnă că le-a trebuit 7 luni să îi facă :)) Atâta mi-a trebuit mie să mă pun în mişcare . Doamne, parcă ieri eram la ţara, la bunici, şi scriam chestia aia xD

Au veniit !! Îi am la ochi acum ( acuma, în timp ce vă scriu postu’ . ) M-am tot analizat în oglindă, încercând să îmi dau seamă dacă semăn cu tocilară . Daaa . Dar o tocilară dinaia b-) Chique . Retro . Bemky xD

Ii ador , ma . Sunt asa fericita . Maine ma duc cu prescriptia sa imi puna dioptrii .

Ieri am fost de serviciU .

Black Swan are o mulţime de defecte : concepţia întregului personaj Nina e o problemă majoră. Nicio femeie atât de copilăroasă şi de blândă ar rezistă vreodată într-o companie de dans de elită, aşa că e destul de improbabil că directorul acestei companii (Vincent Cassel) să o aleagă doar pe ea pentru rolul principal de balerină . De asemenea, Portaman nu are corpul potrivit şi este cam scundă având 1,60.
Filmuleţul e cam total predictibil .. ? Adică ajungem la un moment dat să nu mai ştim dacă ceea ce vedem e ‘real’ sau doar una dintre halucinaţiile ei, ceea ce ne aduce aminte de adorabiilele clisee din filmele horror : ea fiind urmărită de dublură-ei-interioară (?) (sau ce rahat e aia) (doppelganger ?), reflecţia aia a ei pare că se mişcă cum vrea ea, se imaginează mutilându-se (!!), etc. Nicuna din imaginiile astea nu prezintă câtuşi de puţină originalitate şi parcă zbiară temă întregului film în cel mai ‘duuh`’ way .

B.S. e total derivat din alte, mult mai bune, filme . Nu am văzut The Red Shoes, dar cea mai mare parte din relaţia Ninei cu mamă ei a fost practic culeasă din The Piano Teacher unde Michael Haneke l-ar putea da în judecată ( probabil ) pe Aronofsky pentru plagiere ! De asemenea, toată chestia aia cu Nina şi descoperirea sexualităţii ei (??) care practic o conduce la căderea psihică a fost muult mai bine pusă în scenă de Polanski în Repulsion, şi asta a fost acum 50 de ani .. B.S. e mai degrabă un amestec cu părţi ale unor filme bune !
Nina bea ceva alcool, se ‘ simte bine ‘ singurică şi se ceartă cu mă-să, şi noi trebuie să credem că aşa îşi explorează ea partea întunecată. Mai degrabă totu’ e pooorn ce se răsfrânge în suferinţa Ninei fără să dea publicului un motiv raţional pentru că să se uite.

Uite, filmul e regizat ok, arată chiar bine, iar actorii reuşesc cât de cât să joace rolurile alea stupide. Am văzut filme mult mai rele decât B.S. Dar în acest caz, caz în care se face o reclamă exagerată-umflată-până-la-limită sunt tentată (guilty plesure) să dau o notă mai miica decât o merită. Ok, recunosc că nu prea îmi plac filmele horror şi nu pot decât presupune că oamenii care le agrează au dat o notă entuziasmată .

Aţi spus cumva 8,6 ?? Părăsesc definitiv lumea filmelor. Do svidaniya!
